Apa y ama, os quiero.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”25px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]Puedes seguirme también a través de las redes sociales: Facebook, TwitterInstagram, Google+ y Pinterest.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”25px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]Fotografía: Foto Gómez[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” oblique_section=”no” text_align=”left” css_animation=”” box_shadow_on_row=”no”][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”30px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][/vc_column][/vc_row][:en][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” oblique_section=”no” text_align=”left” css_animation=”” box_shadow_on_row=”no”][vc_column][layerslider_vc id=”53″][vc_empty_space height=”30px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” oblique_section=”no” text_align=”left” css_animation=”” box_shadow_on_row=”no”][vc_column][vc_column_text]I really wanted to share this post with you, a winter wedding I could not plan or decorate, a wedding that just transmits by the smile of its protagonists. To sum up, a wedding that not existing Berezi Moments yet, was already berezi (special) in its entire essence: my parents’ wedding. It has been 35 years since my parents tied the knot in the church of San Martin de Soba (Cantabria) in a cold morning of February 28th, so I find no better way to make my special tribute to them than publishing their beautiful wedding photos.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]As I said, my parents got married on February 28th and just some days before the wedding, it was about to be suspended due to the attempted coup d’état of 23F; as my father, for his age, should have left and that meant cancelling the wedding. Everything was fortunately in a story, although my mother tells me that the previous days to the wedding were full of nerves and uncertainty.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]Many couples currently choose to get married in winter months and out of season, but my parents already did it years. They got married in winter, in their village’s church and beyong the eyes of their 140 family and friends.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]My mother wore a lace dress with long sleeves and small flyers which was a present of my grandmother, bought in El Danubio Azul; a shop from Santander that continues to sell wedding and Communion dresses. She also wore a white headdress that put her short dark hair up. As jewelry, she only wore a watch and earrings, a gift from my father for her birthday, and the bouquet was a delicate bouquet of roses, that my mother after the wedding, took to his father to the cemetery.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]The bride went to the church in a red Seat 124 let by some relatives. My mother was accompanied by my paternal grandfather, the best man, and my maternal grandmother was the godmother. The two little sisters of my mother, dressed alike, were in charge of carrying the rings and wedding coins, a task perfectly fulfilled. The church and the car were adorned with red and white carnations; in the past florists did not take care of placing flowers in the churches, being a relative the one in charge of collecting them and distributing by the pews, vases, car …[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]The banquet was held at the Hostal Río Asón, one of the caterings that most weddings celebrated at the time. Today it is closed, but I think it is one of the sites that most weddings, communions and baptisms gave in the area (in fact, we celebrated my brother’s baptism and communion there). Formerly there was no habit of making tasting menu, they had a look on menus and left advised by the restaurant recommendations. The cake was a classic, a perfect San Marcos placed in a high building structure. At the entrance to the banquet, my mother tells me that the Maître received them with a bottle of champagne and two glasses to toast with their arms entwined. As explained in this post, it all comes back and the trend we find now of placing long tables in weddings was already seen at our parents’ weddings (try it and ask your parents).[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]There are other traditions that we nowadays keep carrying, such as wedding favours for the guests. At their wedding, they offered a pure to men and a pack with three cigars to women; all items were engraved with my parents’ name and the wedding date.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]A curious tradition that existed before, at least in the north of Spain, consisted of cutting the groom’s tie into pieces and passed it on a tray to collect money for their honeymoon. That is why my father carries a different tie in the banquet pictures, as it was going to be cut and not to be the new one.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]The ball was enliven by a live band (another trend that is back), Orchestra Montijana, and my parents chose a waltz to start it.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]After the wedding, they began an exciting adventure, sharing their life together and forming a beautiful family. They were on honeymoon in Madrid and Zaragoza and ended up visiting the lakes of Covadonga in Asturias.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]I hope you enjoy these photos, rescued from the family album that my mother keeps so carefully and made by Foto Gómez, the village’s photographer par excellence at the time.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43302″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43303″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43291″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43299″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43292″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43296″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43297″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43293″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43294″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43301″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43295″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43298″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43300″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”15px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_single_image image=”43290″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_empty_space height=”20px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]It has been impossible to make this post and do not shed tears because looking at the pictures, I understand how much my parents loved each other; that smile that showed above all the beauty they had ahead.
