We can say in fall the wedding season ends and the era of nice meetings to meet the grooviest wedding suppliers begins. Recently I told you about my visit to Love Lab Days aquí and aquí and now I am back with another great weddings event in my city, Bilbao: El Patio de las Bodas.

This nice wedding suppliers meeting, organized by Marketing for Lemons and Very Bilbao, took place last November 7th and 8th, with the aim to bring great wedding professionals closer to brides and grooms. For, it was an opportunity to meet colleagues and spend a nice day in good company. I was thinking about seeing it in some hours and I finally stayed for all the day; there was such a good feeling, laughs and kindness in every corner that I felt caught. Besides, between weddings professionals passionate by our job, you can spend hours and hours without noticing about the time.

The Event

The chosen place for the date was Yimby building, opened one year ago and a referent for making events, conventions and even parties and cocktails. It has two main rooms and a main courtyard, known as The Yard. It is a surprise to see its brightness and “El árbol de las sorpresas”, the steel sculpture designed by Vicente García Plana.

At the entrance we could see a big slate board with all the participants’ name and the workshops timetables. Besides, they gave you a blue wristband so you could come in and out of the place without a problem. You had also the chance to vote for your favorite corner, but it was so difficult for me, as there were so many nice corners all around.

The most voted space by the public was the corner of the designer Alicia Rueda, who left stunned everyone with her new collection of bride dresses for 2016. As Alice said, the dress has to fit to the millimeter and the bride does not have to leave to be herself in the wedding day.

It drew a lot my attention how nice were Iratxe and Janire from Voilà Project, they even had a customized apron with their brand color. It was a pleasure to have a little chat with them and to see the new wedding invitations they have and all they can do, as far as you can imagine and more.

Among the participants of El Patio de las Bodas, there were the best wedding suppliers of Bizkaia to organize your wedding. From wedding planners, photographers, restaurants and caterings, to designers, florists, travel agencies and of course, everything needed for the protagonists of the big day, the bride and the groom: wedding dresses, groom suits, personal shoppers, headdresses, wedding rings … In summary, a careful selection of the best professionals to organize weddings in the Basque Country. Although I do not have pictures, I could also admire the great work of Anita Ribbon, Carmen Soto and Linda Lumière.

In addition to this, there was a chill out area in the Yard where you could listen music of great professionals like Penny Lane, Jazz Ciudad, The Gasti’s or Lander DJ. Besides, it was a great opportunity to enjoy delicious cocktails of Mindshakers and to take a picture inside the Kiribox of Irantzu and Ekaitz.

The Workshops

During the two days of the event, there were workshops to counsel couples and bring them closer to the work of these great wedding suppliers in Bizkaia. I was very lucky to see Alicia Rueda’s workshop, which was a great success and left amazed so many brides with her advice and wise words to search for the perfect wedding dress. When you see such an enthusiastic and passionate person, you know she is going to get the best of you and is going to design your dress with the same enthusiasm you have. The most important thing according to Alicia, is that the designer of your dress knows and understands your style and personality.

I was also fascinated by the wonderful work of Ane de Cocó. She made a stunning beautiful flowers crown in less than an hour, while she was explaining and giving advice about headdresses. After, she also had the detail of giving the crown she had made among the attendees.

I want to express once again my most sincere congratulations to the Lemons and Very Bilbao for creating this very great nice wedding suppliers meeting in the north; it has been a wonderful meeting to discover trends and put a face to colleagues and suppliers in the bridal market, I am looking forward to go to the next one.

If you need help for your wedding planning and decoration, I will be happy to listen to you.
